Horimiya Manga Returns With New Chapters in July

Horimiya surprised fans with its announcement that the manga will release four new chapters.

Hori and Miyamura are sharing a new piece of memory with Horimiya fans.

As reported by Anime News Network, Horimiya will release a new compiled 17th volume called “A piece of memories.” Volume 17 will not only contain three new chapters, written and illustrated by Daisuke Hagiwara, but it will also include a fourth chapter, created by Hero, who created the original web manga series. “A piece of memories” releases on July 18.

Hori-san to Miyamura-kun originally released on Hero’s website in a four-panel format from February 2007 to December 2011. The web manga series received an OVA series with the first releasing in September 2012 and the sixth in May 2021. The manga later was adapted by Daisuke Hagiwara under the new title Horimiya with Hero supervising. The series ran from October 2011 to March 2021 in Monthly G Fantasy. Horimiya received an anime adaptation in January 2021, via CloverWorks. Another series Horimiya -piece-, which will showcase scenes from the manga that weren’t featured in the first series, has been announced.

Most people would never think that the popular and beautiful Kyouko Hori and the gloomy loner Izumi Miyamura could ever be friends. They were much too different from each other. However, a chance encounter leads the two to discover they’re both leading quite different lives outside of school. As Hori and Miyamura spend more time together, their tentative friendship blossoms into something more.

Horimiya is available on Funimation. Horimiya -piece- launches in July.
