Hell’s Paradise Unleashes Dazzling Creditless Opening and Ending Songs
Fans can watch and be enthralled by the opening and ending songs for Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku.
To celebrate Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku‘s official premiere, the series has uploaded the opening and ending songs.
Hell’s Paradise, produced by MAPPA, recently premiered on April 1 to high anticipation. The opening song “W●RK” features a duet performed by millennium parade and Ringo Sheena. Similar to many other MAPPA productions, the opening song uses numerous symbolic references to foreshadow events to come. The ending song “Kamihitoe,” sung by Uru is more slow-paced, spotlighting Gabimaru and Yuzuriha’s relationship.
The first episode “The Death Row Convict and the Executioner” introduces the protagonist Gabimaru who continues to survive every execution attempt despite wanting to die. Yamada Asaemon Sagiri is the latest executioner and spends most of her time asking Gabimaru questions, specifically why he seems to want to live despite claiming he has nothing to live for. After fighting Sagiri, Gabimaru realizes only one person is giving him a reason to live and that’s his wife. Sagiri offers him the opportunity to achieve his dream of living a normal life with his wife but it comes with a price: he must join a group of death row convicts to extract the elixir of life on an expedition where no human has ever come back alive.
Written and illustrated by Yuji Kaku, Hell’s Paradise premiered on Shōnen Jump+ in January 2018 and concluded in 2021. The series received an anime adaptation, courtesy of MAPPA, and will air for 13 episodes. Kaori Makita will direct the anime while Akira Kindaichi will write the script with Yoshiaki Dewa in charge of the music.
The first episode of Hell’s Paradise is available on Crunchyroll and Netflix.
