The nominations for Heated Rivalry are continuing to roll in.

As per Variety, Heated Rivalry has earned two nominations at this year’s Queerties, an awards ceremony that honors the best in LGBTQ+ media. “It’s the pop culture awards show where queer people honor the best of the best, voting for the talent and creatives who inspire and pave the way for the next generation of queer youth,” said Scott Gatz, CEO of Q.Digital, Queerty’s parent company.

The hit gay hockey romance show Heated Rivalry has found itself among nominees such as Wicked: For Good, Kiss of the Spider Woman, The White Lotus, and Severance (in different categories).

Heated Rivalry is competing for best “TV Drama” against Olympo, Pluribus, Severance, The Gilded Age, The Hunting Wives, The Last of Us, The Pitt, The White Lotus, and Wayward. François Arnaud, who plays Scott Hunter, also received a nomination for “TV performance.”

Based on Rachel Reid’s bestselling novel, Heated Rivalry was written, produced, and directed by Jacob Tierney. Starring Hudson Williams as Shane Hollander, a Japanese-Canadian hockey player, and Connor Storrie as Ilya Rozanov, a Russian hockey player, the story follows the two rival hockey players who, to the public, seem to hate each other, but behind closed doors, start a casual sexual relationship. However, as the years go by, what was meant to be a few instances for sexual release turn into something more.

The TV show, produced by Crave, debuted on November 28 and has received an overwhelming outpouring of critical acclaim and praise for both actors, screenwriting, directing, cinematography, and music composition. The penultimate episode in particular achieved a perfect 10 out of 10 rating on IMDb at one point with the last episode receiving a near perfect score.

A second season was ordered at Crave with filming expected to begin in the summer.

Fans can vote once per day on the Queerties site until February 17. The Queerties ceremony will take place in Los Angeles sometime in March.
