Haikyuu!! Invites Fans to Cheer on Karasuno for Upcoming Film

Get ready to cheer on Karasuno, Haikyuu!! fans!

IKE IKE KARASUNO! OSE OSE KARASUNO! It’s time to bring your Haikyuu!! spirit, fans, for the final two-part film.

Haikyuu!! is inviting fans attending Haikyuu!! Festa 2023 to bring their vocal chords. Haikyuu!! fans will get a chance to be part of the franchise’s history because the cheers of 10,000 fans will be recorded and used in the film. The Festa will take place on Sept. 24 at Musashino Sports Plaza.

Haikyuu!! Festa 2023 has also invited the voice actors from the anime to attend where they will take part in reading out an original script, written by Haruichi Furudate. Alongside the reading, SPYAIR and BURNOUT SYNDROMES are also scheduled to perform. SPYAIR performed the opening theme song “Imagination” for Season 1 and “I’m a Believer” in Season 2. BURNOUT SYNDROMES performed the opening theme song “FLY HIGH” for the second half of Season 2 and “Hikariare” for Season 3.

Haikyuu!!‘s Hinata and Kageyama have also been appointed as the first “Special Tourism Ambassadors” of Sendai City and to commemorate such an honour, a monument of the duo will be erected on Aug. 19. The monument will be placed at Kamei Arena Sendai.

Written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate, Haikyuu!! ran in Weekly Shōnen Jump from February 2012 to July 2020. The story follows Shoyo Hinata, who despite his short stature, dreams of soaring above his opponents and becoming the best in the sport. While the series mainly focuses on Karasuno High’s journey, from the Spring Interhigh to Nationals, Haikyuu!! has notably received compliments for the character development of various characters from other rival schools. Haikyuu!! has over 55 million copies in circulation as of August 2022 and is one of the best-selling manga series.

An anime adaptation, produced by Production I.G, released its first season in September 2014 and has four seasons. A two-part film will wrap up the remaining chapters in the manga.

Haikyuu!! is available to watch on Crunchyroll while the manga is available on Viz Media. Haikyuu!! Festa 2023 will be available to stream on Toho’s official YouTube channel.
