Hai Tang Books has announced its next danmei license and it features a character type rarely seen in danmei: a crybaby gong (For those not in the know, “gong” is the Chinese word for “top”).

The indie publisher revealed that they have licensed His Fifth Highness Still Doesn’t Know for an English print release. They teased that the story would have a “crybaby dragon top x beautiful god bottom who’s tired of living.” An illustration by @/JulianLynnnn for the work has been released, although it’s unclear if this would be the official cover artwork.

According to their website, the publisher will include a web extra, the published extra, and an exclusive extra. The danmei will also include a printed signature card. Chang Pei has it listed for 32 chapters.

Written by Mai Xiang Ji Ne, His Fifth Highness Still Doesn’t Know is a xianxia danmei that follows the arranged marriage between Jing Feirong, a lovestruck prince how can transform into a dragon, and Chu Yanchuan, a god who has to be the one to wipe off his little crybaby’s tears. The story was originally serialized between August and October 2020.

His Fifth Highness Still Doesn’t Know will release as a standalone volume in early 2026.
