Guardian: Zhen Hun’s Debut Novel Cover Promises Heated Chemistry

Guardian: Zhen Hun has released the cover for the English release of the first volume.

Is it hot in here or is it because Weilan refuses to take their eyes off each other on the debut cover of Guardian: Zhen Hun?

Seven Seas Entertainment has announced they have licensed a second danmei novel series from Priest. The publisher released the first volume cover of Guardian: Zhen Hun, illustrated by showing a close-up of Zhao Yunlan and Shen Wei gazing deeply into each other’s eyes. A cigarette delicately hanging from his lips, Zhao Yunlan tilts his head playfully while Shen Wei stares resolutely back. The two could not be any more different from each other with Zhao Yunlan sporting a more casual look with a black jacket and white shirt that shows his chest while Shen Wei has his collar buttoned up with a tie neatly tied. Beneath Shen Wei’s put-together appearance, there appears to be something glowing under his shirt.

Guardian will release as a trilogy with the first volume launching in August. The fantasy romance series follows Zhao Yunlan, the leader of a covert division of the Ministry of Public Security, who investigates a death at a local university. He meets Professor Shen Wei who tries to avoid Zhao Yunlan at all costs and seems to be a man who does not like to reveal much about himself. The professor intrigues Zhao Yunlan and he tries to get closer to him. As he does so, he soon discovers he and Shen Wei’s connection is much deeper and much longer than he believed.

A live-action adaptation of Guardian of the same name streamed on Youku between June 13 to June 25, 2018. The drama had been well-received, racking up a total of 1.8 billion views by August 2018.
