Publisher Seven Seas Entertainment revealed the final volume of Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation: Mo Dao Zu Shi has landed on the New York Times Best Sellers List for Paperback Trade Fiction at #4, making it the highest rank for a danmei novel. Previously, the first volume debuted at #9 and the second volume at #8.
The first volume of Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation: Mo Dao Zu Shi released in December 2021. Since then, the series has received a number of accolades including second place as Best Novel at the 13th BL Award 2022. The final volume follows the conclusion of the Guanyin Temple showdown where Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji confront the man who has been orchestrating everything as well as the love they’ve had for each other for two lifetimes.
Volume 5 of Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation: Mo Dao Zu Shi released on May 1, 2023.
