Two professional troubleshooters will make their debut on Shonen Jump on March 2.
Gokurakugai, written and illustrated by Yuto Sano, will premiere on the Shonen Jump app this Thursday, March 2. David Evelyn (Undead Unluck and Kaiju No. 8) handles the English translation. Set in the red-light district, the supernatural story follows two professional troubleshooters named Tao and Alma who will do any kind of job that’s asked of them as long as they get paid the amount of money they want. Alma is the cheerier, outgoing of the pair while Tao generally keeps to herself.
Gokurakugai first debuted in Japan on July 4, 2022 and, despite only having one volume out, has garnered a growing fanbase. According to Manga Mogura RE’s Tweet, Volume 1 has received a fourth reprint. Volume 2 will release in Japan on April 4. In response to Shonen Jump’s announcement, many fans have expressed joy at seeing the manga receive an official English translation.
Fans can read the first chapter of Gokurakugai on the Shonen Jump app or Viz Media.
