Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Announces Voices For Four Upper Ranks in Special PV
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has found its voice talents for the four Upper Ranks of the Twelve Kizuki.
In a gorgeous special PV uploaded on Aniplex’s YouTube channel, the anime introduced viewers to the Twelve Kizuki, twelve of the most powerful demons under Muzan Kibutsuji’s command. In there, fans can hear the voices of Gyokko, Kokushibo, Doma and Hantengu. Voicing Upper Rank 5 Gyokko is Kosuke Toriumi (Requiem of the Rose King and Re:Zero — Starting Life in Another World). Toshio Furukawa (Urusei Yatsura and Attack on Titan) will portray Upper Rank 4 Hantengu. Mamoru Miyano (Free! and Ouran High School Host Club) will voice Upper Rank 2 Doma and Ryotaro Okiayu (Bleach and Fruits Basket) will portray Upper Rank 1 Kokushibo.
The PV showcases the other demons. The first to appear is Upper Rank 3 Akaza who debuted in the “Mugen Train” arc. Following Akaza are the sibling duo Upper Rank 6 Gyutaro and Daki who fought against Tanjiro and his friends during the “Entertainment District” arc. Gyokko’s mocking voice comes out of the mouth placed over where his eye should be. Fans will next hear Hantengu’s high-pitched voice before Doma’s smooth and relaxed timber breaks through. Last to be heard is Kokushibo’s deep voice as viewers can only catch a glimpse of the back of his head where his long red hair is tied into a ponytail.
Created by Koyoharu Gotouge, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba became an enormous bestseller after the anime adaptation, produced by Ufotable, aired in April 2019. The third season which will cover the “Swordsmith Village” arc follows Tanjiro as he journeys to a secluded village inhabited by swordsmiths, seeking to get his sword fixed. MAN WITH A MISSION and milet will sing the opening song “Kizuna no Kiseki.”
Fans in Japan will be able to catch the first episode in special advance screenings on Feb. 3 before viewers in the U.S. and Canada can watch on March 3.
The “Swordsmith Village” arc premieres in April 2023.
