Dandadan Brings the Supernatural in October 2024
Dandadan very appropriately premieres in October 2024.
Dandadan’s pervy ghouls and aliens will join the spooky season this October.
Dandadan announced the main voice cast for the upcoming horror comedy anime at Jump Festa 2024 via a colourful “Character Voice” PV. Dandadan has welcomed Shion Wakayama (Lycoris Recoil‘s Takina Inoue) as Momo Ayase who believes in ghosts but not aliens, Natsuki Hanae (Demon Slayer‘s Tanjiro Kamado) as the nerdy Okarun who believes in aliens but not ghosts. Mayumi Tanaka (One Piece‘s Luffy) will voice Turbo-Granny and Kazuya Nakai (One Piece‘s Zoro) as Alien Serpo.
Acclaimed animation studio Science Saru will animate and produce Dandadan with Fūga Yamashiro as the director. Hiroshi Seko will supervise and write the script with kensuke ushio composing the music. Naoyuki Onda signs on as the character designer with Yoshimichi Kameda designing all things supernatural.
Written and illustrated by Yukinobu Tatsu, Dandadan revolves around two individuals who believe in two outrageous but very different things. Ayase Momo lives with her spirit medium grandma and wholeheartedly believes ghosts exist. On the other side Ken Takakura, later on dubbed as Okarun by Momo, believes that aliens exist but is less convinced on the existence of ghosts. The two make a bet on who is more correct and discover that they’re both more right than they thought: aliens and ghosts exist! And these supernatural entities want some very, very private things from Momo and Okarun.
Dandadan is available to read online on Shōnen Jump+. The anime premieres in October 2024.
