Creators for Dangerous Convenience Store, Jinx and More Terrify with Halloween Treats
These Korean BL authors have some treats up their sleeves for Halloween.
Several Korean BL authors are showering social media with treats (no tricks!) on Halloween.
A few creators of popular BL webcomics have decided to celebrate Halloween in style by outfitting their couples in, some scary and some adorable, costumes. Dangerous Convenience Store‘s Gusao illustrated Uijun and Geonu in simple puppy and wolf ears. Jinx‘s MinGwa turned Jaekyung into a vicious wolf whose eyes have landed on his next meal, the mummy Dan. Jaxx has turned Under the Green Light‘s Jin and Matthew into Frankensteins. Puppy Ever After‘s Ongsim took their characters to church with Jaewon as a priest and Hyunoh as a vampire. Hodot’s Between the Lines couple Dohu and Juheon take turns scaring each other as ghosts.
Gusao’s Dangerous Convenience Store follows college student Uijun who has his heart broken. On one drunken night, Uijun spills out his feelings to Geonu, a frequent customer to the convenience store Uijun works in. After listening to him, the dangerous gangster Geonu makes him an offer that shocks Uijun.
Dangerous Convenience Store (R15 version) is available to read on Manta, with the main story completed. The uncensored version is currently ongoing on Lezhin. The physical webcomic version will be published by Seven Seas Entertainment.
The author of BJ Alex, MinGwa, recently launched a new series called Jinx that follows physical therapist Kim Dan who has to scrabble enough money to pay off dangerous loansharks and pay the medical bills for his ill grandma. When top MMA fighter Joo Jaekyung hires him to be his physical therapist, Dan discovers there is another reason why Jaekyung hired him: the MMA fighter has a “jinx” that he needs resolved in order to win matches.

Jaxx’s Under the Green Light follows Matthew, a sculpture student prodigy, who meets Jin, a high-ranking criminal. Despite all the darkness roiling underneath Jin’s cold exterior, Matthew sees only his beauty and asks Jin to be his model. What Matthew doesn’t anticipate is that as he falls deeper and deeper in love with Jin, he inevitably falls deeper and deeper into the world of gangs, crime, and violence.
Under the Green Light is available to read on Tapas. Season 2 has begun on the Korean platforms with no date announced for the English platform.
