Chained Soldier Breaks Free, to Stream on HIDIVE

Chained Soldier will stream on HIDIVE with a special premiere in November for those attending Anime NYC.

As announced by HIDIVE, the dark fantasy anime series Chained Soldier will stream on its platform when it premieres in January 2024. For fans attending Anime NYC, they can catch a special screening of the first two episodes of Chained Soldier on Nov. 17.

Written by Takahiro (Akame ga Kill!) and illustrated by Yohei Yakemura, Chained Soldier is set in a matriarchal society where women, who have consumed a resource called “Peach” and are granted supernatural powers, rule. The story follows a recent high school graduate named Yūki Wakura who enters through the gate to Mato and meets Kyōka Uzen, the captain of the 7th Anti-Demon Squad. The manga began serialization in January 2019 and has over 1 million copies in circulation.

The anime adaptation will be helmed by Seven Arcs with Junji Nishimura as the general director, Gorō Kuji as the director, Ryōta Kanō and Akira Kindaichi as the script writers and Kkohta Yamamoto as the composer. Akari Kitō performs the opening theme song with Maaya Uchida performing the ending them song. Yūya Hirose will voice Yūki Wakura, Akari Kitō as Kyōka Uzen, Yume Miyamoto as Himari Azuma, and Mari Hino as Shushu Suruga.

Chained Soldier premieres in January 2024. The manga is available to read on Shōnen Jump+.
