A Sign of Affection Makes Hearts Flutter with New Key Visual and Premiere Date

A Sign of Affection will make everyone experience the cozy feels this January.

The official social media account for A Sign of Affection has revealed the romance anime series will premiere on Jan. 6, 2024. A new key visual also revealed more of the cast which includes Nao Toyama (Classroom of the Elite) as Ema Nakazono and Tasuku Hatanaka (Tokyo Revengers) as Kokoro Iyanagi. Novelbright will perform the opening theme song “Yuki no Oto” (“The Sound of Snow”) while ChoQMay performs the ending theme song “snow spring.”

Previously, A Sign of Affection announced that Sumire Morohoshi (Bungo Stray Dogs and Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation II) will voice Yuki and Yū Miyazaki (Star Wars: Visions and I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss) will portray Itsuomi.Takeo Ōtsuka (Oshi no Ko) will voice Ōshi Ashioki. Ryota Ohsaka (Attack on Titan) will voice Kyōya Nagi. Kaede Hondo (Mission: Yozakura Family) will voice Rin Fujishiro.

The anime adaptation will be helmed by the animation studio Ajia-do which has worked on Ascendance of a Bookworm. Yūta Murano will direct and oversee the storyboards. Yoko Yonaiyama will write the series script. Kasumi Sakai will design the characters while Yukari Hashimoto will compose the music for the series.

A Sign of Affection, written and illustrated by the creative duo suu Morishita, began serialization in Kodansha’s Dessert magazine in July 2019 and has nine tankōbon volumes as of July 2023. The story follows college student Yuki whose world has always been silent. When she meets a well-travelled Itsuomi on a chance encounter when they’re both on the train, the two’s worlds begin expanding. Itsuomi helps her out at school and, through their interactions, Yuki starts falling in love with Itsuomi.
