The highly-anticipated anime series Oshi no Ko, which recently debuted on HIDIVE, hit an impressive milestone, with its opening MV surpassing 1 million views. Reported by Anime Corner, the impressive milestone occurred within eight hours of the video’s release.
The song, titled “Idol,” is performed by the hit-making duo YOASOBI and tells the story of the life of an idol. Many of the lyrics are similar to questions that idols are asked during interviews before going on to express feelings from the idol’s point of view.
With Oshi no Ko‘s newly released anime adaptation quickly wooing anime viewers, its no surprise that the opening music video made such a splash upon being uploaded to YouTube. In addition, YOASOBI’s star power certainly lent a helping hand.
