Inuyasha Creator Rumiko Takahashi Knighted in France

Inuyasha creator Rumiko Takahashi was recently knighted by France at the Ambassador’s residence in Japan.

Rumiko Takashi, best known for her iconic creations Inuyasha and Ranma 1/2, recently found herself knighted in France as she received the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres decoration.

As reported by Anime News Network, the beloved mangaka was honored at the France Ambassador’s residence in Tokyo, Japan. Takahashi, who debuted in 1978, became a mainstay in the manga and anime communities with her hit works.

In addition to receiving a Knighthood, Takahashi also holds the distinction of being a 2021 Harvey Awards’ Hall of Famer, as well as a 2018 Will Eisner Awares Hall of Famer. Moreover, the Japanese government honored her with the Purple Ribbon in 2020.
