Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Unleashes Dramatic PV and Fall Release Window
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End will feature Anya’s voice actor from Spy x Family.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has treated fans to a short teaser, along with the expected premiere window.
As revealed on the official anime account of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, the anime will premiere sometime in the fall. Atsumi Tanezaki (Anya in Spy x Family) voices the titular character. Keiichirō Saitō, who is currently most well-known for directing sleeper hit Bocchi the Rock!, will direct the adaptation with Tomohiro Suzuki as the script writer and Evan Call (The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window, Violet Evergreen and Symphogear G) as the composer. Madhouse (Hunter x Hunter, Death Parade, One-Punch Man and Takt Op. Destiny) will produce the anime adaptation.
Set to a medieval soundtrack reminiscent of the music composed for Shire scenes in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, the trailer opens with Frieren turning to watch a meteor shower along with the rest of her companions. Their heroics are immortalized in statues in their honour. Closing with Freiren bidding farewell to her comrades Himmel, Heiter and Eisen, the elf mage promises to see her friends again.
Written by Kanehito Yamada with art by Tsukasa Abe, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End follows elf mage Frieren who has lived for an immeasurable amount of time. As such, she has seen the world and humanity change. After defeating the Demon King with her comrades, the group make a promise to reunite once again the next time the Era Meteors fall, which happen once every fifty ears. However, Frieren realizes things have changed drastically and one of her comrades have passed away. She makes an effort to go on one more adventure but with the goal of learning more about humanity.
