BL Anime Twilight Out of Focus Zooms in on 2024 Premiere
Twilight Out of Focus, the BL anime about a film enthusiast and a loner, premieres sometime in 2024.
Twilight Out of Focus is eyeing a 2024 premiere window.
The BL high school anime Twilight Out of Focus announced the opening of its website for the anime adaptation. Fans can trace their mouse tracker over the characters like Mao, Hisashi, Jin, Giichi, Rei, and Shion and paint them to life. Most importantly, the website has also revealed the anime will debut sometime in 2024.
Written and illustrated by Jyanome, Twilight Out of Focus began serializing in Honey Milk in June 2018 and currently has five parts with the first three parts being part of the main story while the last two are spin-offs. The fifth part, titled Tasogare Autofōkasu long take 1, released in Japan in July 2023. The fourth part, titled Twilight Out of Focus 4: The Evening Monologues, published in print on Jan. 16, 2024. Kodansha holds the official English license for the digital and print versions.
Twilight Out of Focus revolves around roommates Mao Tsuchiya and Hisashi Otomo. The two make three promises: Mao will never tell anyone that Hisashi is gay and has a boyfriend; Hisashi will not approach Mao “in that way”; and they won’t disturb each other’s “private alone time.”
The website has not yet revealed the studio responsible for animating and producing but has confirmed Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Yūma Uchida will reprise their roles as Mao and Hisashi from the drama CD.
