Sasaki and Peeps Absolutely Wins With Hilarious Casting Credits
Sasaki and Peeps must have gathered every known voice actor named Sasaki for the anime series.
Most people click away when the ending credits start to roll. Don’t do it for Sasaki and Peeps; you won’t regret it.
The fantasy anime series Sasaki and Peeps recently began streaming and has already made some waves — not because of the actual episode but because of its ending credits. The ending credits list out all the voice actors and staff involved and the anime took the time to cast anyone whose name was “Sasaki” into a minor role. One viewer praised the last two credits where two retired professional wrestlers, Kensuke Sasaki and Hisako Sasaki, were cast.
A light novel series written by Buncololi and illustrated by Kantoku, Sasaki and Peeps is a fantasy comedy series that focuses on Sasaki (not to be confused with the ten-plus real-life Sasaki’s) who decides to adopt a pet in the hopes of it fulfilling the void in his dull corporate life. Sasaki gets more than what he bargained for when the pet bird he takes back home turns out to be a sage from another world who gives Sasaki the ability to cross between worlds. The light novel began running on Kakuyomu and Shōsetsuka ni Narō in December 2018 and moved to MF Bunko J in January 2021.
Silver Link will animate and produce the adaptation with Mirai Minato directing. Deko Akao will be in charge of the screenplay. Tomokazu Sugita (Charlotte Katakuri in One Piece) and Aoi Yūki (Lucy in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners) as Peeps.
Sasaki and Peeps is currently streaming on Crunchyroll with Episode 1 premiering on Jan. 5.
