One Piece’s Luffy Goes Gear 0 as Balloon Pops at Thanksgiving Parade

One Piece’s Luffy is defeated by his greatest nemesis yet: a tree.

One Piece‘s Luffy balloon made its highly-anticipated appearance during Macy’s annual Thanksgiving Day Parade.

However, the leader of the Straw Hat Pirates, who recently went Gear 5 in the anime, was shockingly defeated by a nearby tree when his hat caught on the branches. Thankfully, despite the unexpected attack, only Luffy’s hat was affected, leaving the hero able to finish the parade, albeit with a floppy brim.

Toei Animation posted a video to its official X, formerly Twitter, account depicting the hero’s uncharacteristically floppy hat.

The incident led to One Piece fans making light of the situation on social media, joking about how Luffy became the titular character from the TV series Gilligan’s Island or how the character diverted attention from Goku’s balloon with the incident.
