Fans will soon have a copy of Cherry Blossoms After Winter in their hands.

As reported by Business Korea, Contents First, the creator of the webcomics platform Tappytoon, has announced its partnership with Penguin Random House’s pop-comics imprint Inklore. Inklore’s first physical print title will be the BL webcomic Cherry Blossoms After Winter and will release in spring 2024.

Ernest Woo, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Contents First, was enthusiastic about the release. “As our first title for the Inklore imprint is BL and romance, we look forward to introducing more great titles and genres that Tappytoon readers love,” he said.

Inklore was announced to launch early in 2024 and revealed a slate of upcoming physical print releases that included Cherry Blossoms After Winter. Along with the popular BL series, Inklore also unveiled plans to release My Love Story With Yamada-kun and both the webcomic and web novel versions of Under the Oak Tree. My Love Story With Yamada-kun will release in early 2024, although no exact release window has been stated.

Written and illustrated by Bamwoo, Cherry Blossoms After Winter follows Haebom and Taesung who were once close friends when they were children. However, when Haebom’s parents die in a tragic accident, leaving Haebom to move in with Taesung and his mother, his friendship with Taesung becomes tense with the latter avoiding the former. Haebom soon discovers that Taesung isn’t as cold as he seems and that if he looks past his frigid appearance, there is the warmth of spring waiting for him.

Cherry Blossoms After Winter has also inspired a live-action adaptation Kang Hui starring as Jo Taesung and Ok Jinuk as Seo Haebom. The television series garnered positive reaction from fans and is available to watch on Viki.

For now, fans can read–and reread–Haebom and Taesung’s love story on Tappytoon where it is completed with four seasons and a 19-episode epilogue.
