Blue Lock‘s new opening song, “Numbness like a ginger,” is performed by Unison Square Garden and appears in the second cour of the anime. The single for the song will drop on April 12, when fans can purchase it at their favorite store or as a digital copy.

Unison Square Garden, also known as USG, formed in 2004 and took part in the “Teens Music Festival Musical Instrument Store Competition,” where they won the Grand Prix. They debuted in 2008 under Toy’s Factory, the fourth largest label in Japan and home to icons like Bump of Chicken and Mr. Children. Composed of members Kosuke Saito (vocals/guitar), Tomoya Tabuchi (bass/backing vocal) and Takao Suzuki (drums), the group has released eight studio albums since debuting, with their 2018 album “Mode Mood Mode” and their 2020 album “Patrick Vegee” peaking at #2 on the charts.

Blue Lock is a manga series illustrated by Yusuke Nomura and written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro. First published in Weekly Shōnen Magazine, it went on to receive an anime produced by Eight Bit in late 2022. Blue Lock is available to stream on Crunchyroll, where new episodes are released every Sunday.
