Spy x Family Manga Announces One-Month Hiatus After Thrilling Arc
The Spy x Family manga will take a break and return with more waku waku antics in September.
Spy x Family‘s Loid will definitely need this one-month break after the ordeal he’s been through in this recent arc.
After wrapping up the “Mole Hunt” arc with Chapter 86 on Aug. 6, Spy x Family will go on a hiatus for approximately one month. No reason has officially been given for the hiatus although many fans speculated it was due to mangaka Tatsuya Endo’s health. The creator has posted illustrations to accompany each new episode’s upload and most of them seem to hint that Endo is feeling the exhaustion and mental strain of overworking.
The “Mole Hunt” arc features Twilight’s most dangerous mission yet. There have been numerous close calls throughout as he and the rest of WISE hunted down a mole, but this is the first arc fans have seen just how close Twilight, the master of disguise and the most elite spy WISE has to offer, was to having his cover blown.
Spy x Family, one of the most popular and best-selling manga series of all time with 30 million copies in circulation as of March 2023, inspired an equally popular anime adaptation. Animated and produced by CloverWorks and Wit Studio, the first season aired in April 2022 in a split-cour format with Season 2 airing sometime in October 2023. Endo has been extremely busy not only with the manga serialization but also as the supervisor of the new movie Spy x Family Code: White. The movie will feature an original story with Takashi Katagiri directing and Ichirō Ōkouchi in charge of the screenplay. Hype has continued ramping up with the movie collaborating with Street Fighter 6 and Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.
Chapter 87 releases on Sept. 8, but fans can catch up on the exciting and hilarious adventures of the Forger family on Viz Media or Manga Plus.
