Spy x Family Season 2 Drops Teaser Visuals Showcasing Two Sides of the Forgers
Spy x Family fans are in for a waku waku Season 2 with the release of two thrilling and sweet teaser visuals.
Season 2 of Spy x Family will be full of danger and hilarity.
The official Twitter account of the Spy x Family anime unveiled two new contrasting teaser visuals for the upcoming second season. The first visual uses vertical panels and is slick, displaying the Forgers in their second secret life as the Thorn Princess, Starlight Anya with her trusty companion (super) Bond and Twilight. The second visual has a much different tone, using horizontal panels to showcase the Forgers’ life at home with Loid (unsuccessfully) wrangling Anya to study, Anya cuddling Bond and Yor whipping up her latest toxic culinary invention.
Created by Tatsuya Endo, Spy x Family is one of the best-selling manga series of all time, marking 30 million copies in circulation as of March 2023. The series combines action and comedy as it tells the tale of a family comprised of three people hiding secrets. While it appears as though the Forgers are a normal family with Loid as a psychiatrist, Yor as a city worker and Anya attending classes at Eden Academy, they are anything but. Loid is actually a spy who has been tasked with a mission called Operation Strix to prevent the break out of another war. Yor is an assassin known as the Thorn Princess who stealthily and quickly takes out her clients. Meanwhile, Anya is about as normal as every other four-year-old-masquerading-as-a-six-year-old — except she can read minds.
The manga received an anime adaptation, via CloverWorks and Wit Studio, in April 2022. The anime stars the voice acting talents of Takuya Eguchi, Atsumi Tanezaki and Saori Hayami as Loid, Anya and Yor, respectively. The first season ended in December 2022.
Spy x Family announced a second season and a new original movie, with Season 2 airing in October and the movie on Dec. 22, 2023. Little information has been revealed about the movie, titled Spy x Family Code: White, except for a teaser visual of the Forgers in a snowy environment.
Season 2 of Spy x Family airs in October 2023. The first season is available on Crunchyroll and Hulu.
