Blades of the Guardians Donghua Announces June Premiere
After much delay, the donghua adaptation of Blades of the Guardians will premiere on June 1.
Blades of the Guardians will slash viewers’ screens this coming June.
As revealed by Catsuka, Blades of the Guardians will premiere on June 1 in China. Blades of the Guardians had already caught international viewers’ attention with its high animation quality. The new trailer introduces all of the characters and gives quick snippets of the various battles that will be waged.
Produced by Colored Pencil Animation Group (The King’s Avatar Season 3, Silent House and Warm Sun), Blades of the Guardians is a donghua adapted from a manhua written and illustrated by Xianzhe Xu. Originally, at the time of its announcement, it was hinted the donghua would release sometime in the spring of 2022 but has been delayed until 2023. The series follows mercenary Dao Ma who accepts an escort mission as part of him paying off his debt. However, he gets more than he bargains for when he discovers conspiracies the empire is trying to keep hidden.
Blades of the Guardians premieres on June 1 on Tencent Video. There has been no details on an international streaming platform.
