The K-Pop world is reeling after Park Bom dropped a bombshell accusation against her 2NE1 bandmate—and the aftermath is playing out in real time on social media.
On March 3, Park Bom posted a handwritten letter on her Instagram account alleging that Sandara Park was “caught for drugs” and framed her as a drug user to cover it up. The post, though quickly deleted, sent shockwaves through the fandom and left Sandara Park as the unintended target of a very public attack.
In her now-deleted letter, Park Bom addressed her long-standing Adderall controversy, explaining she takes the medication for Attention Deficit Disorder. But then she pivoted to a much more serious claim: “Sandara Park was caught in a drug case and, to cover it up, made Park Bom into a drug addict”. She also called out YG Entertainment, Yang Hyun-suk, Teddy Park, and CL, asking them to stop reporting her for exceeding prescribed doses.
A source close to Park Bom later attributed the outburst to her health, stating, “As you know, this incident occurred due to Park Bom’s unstable health. We ask for your understanding”.
Sandara Park, whose contract with Abyss Company had recently expired, initially couldn’t issue an official statement. But on March 4, she took to Instagram Stories with a direct, measured response:
“I have never used drugs. I hope she recovers her health.”
Her statement prioritized concern over criticism. Despite being publicly accused, Dara refrained from attacking her former bandmate and instead expressed understanding of Park Bom’s situation.
But actions speak louder than words. Fans quickly noticed that Park Bom is no longer in Sandara Park’s followers list. While Dara continues to follow 2NE1 members CL and Go Minji, Bom is conspicuously absent. In contrast, Go Minji follows all three members.
The move has fueled speculation that Dara has quietly “cut ties” with Park Bom following the incident.
Park Bom has not commented further since deleting her post. Her agency previously stated she is in a “highly unstable emotional state” and needs to focus on treatment and rest. Sandara Park has offered no additional statements since her denial.
For 2NE1 fans, the situation is heartbreaking. The legendary girl group, which briefly reunited for a tour in recent years, now faces the possibility that its bonds may be permanently fractured.
