Wit Studio and Warner Bros. Japan Announces Suicide Squad ISEKAI

Suicide Squad’s Harley Quinn and Joker will transport themselves into a new anime called Suicide Squad ISEKAI.

DC’s Suicide Squad will have a whole different look in this new collaboration between Wit Studio and Warner Bros. Japan.

At Wit Studio’s panel at Anime Expo 2023, the studio revealed it had collaborated with Warner Bros. Japan and DC to create a new isekai anime project called Suicide Squad ISEKAI. Eri Osada will helm the anime as the director. Mangaka Tappei Nagatsuki (the creator behind Re:Zero – Starting Life in Another World) and Eiji Umehara (Vivy -Fluorite Eye’s Song and Re:Zero – Starting Life in Another World) will work together to write the screenplay.

With a spunky accompaniment playing in the background, the teaser introduces viewers to Harley Quinn and Joker as they fight against tanks, dragons, vicious boars, knights and trolls. Aside from those two characters, Deadshot and Amanda Waller will also appear in Suicide Squad ISEKAI. A teaser visual of Harley Quinn has also been released, boasting bright colours.

Akira Amano (creator behind Reborn! and Ron Kamonhashi: Deranged Detective and the character designer behind Psycho-Pass) illustrated the key visual and, additionally, will work on the draft character designs. Naoto Hosoda (Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us) will work on the main character designs and Kenichiro Suehiro (Goblin Slayer and Undead Unluck) will compose the music for Suicide Squad ISEKAI.

Suicide Squad ISEKAI has not yet announced a release date.
