Fans aren’t the only one who want to see Tower of God Season 2.

Tanino Miho, who designed the characters and was the chief animation director for nearly the entirety of the anime adaptation of Tower of God, dropped a rough sketch of the various characters with one long-haired character taking centre stage. The caption was simple and conveyed a yearning felt by the masses: “want to see season 2…” Fans flooded the comment section to praise the artwork, but many others wondered if this sketch was a sign that Season 2 would be coming soon.

Tower of God aired its first season from April to June 2020 with 13 episodes. Telecom Animation Film helmed the animation and production with Takashi Sano directing and Erika Yoshida writing the script and Kevin Penkin as the composer. The anime received favourable reception and a second season was announced in August 2022. However, there has been no additional news since then, leaving the status of the second season in uncertainty.

Written and illustrated by S.I.U., Tower of God features a boy named Twenty-Fifth Bam who has lived his whole life trapped beneath an enormous Tower with his friend Rachel. One day, Rachel decides to climb the Tower to see the stars, abandoning Bam. Bam follows suit, in the hopes that he reunites with Rachel but before he can do that, he’ll have to climb each floor and fight off the foes he sees there.

Tower of God is available to watch on Crunchyroll with the ongoing webcomic available on WEBTOON. The webcomic previously went on hiatus in August 2022 before returning in March 2023 due to the creator’s health issues.
