Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun announces a second season, while After School Hanako-kun gets four sequel episodes.

Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun excitingly announced a second season, while its spinoff, After School Hanako-kun, will receive additional episodes.

As revealed in the announcement, After School Hanako-kun will receive four additional episodes set for release sometime in 2024. No further information regarding Season 2 of Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun is available at this time.

Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun began as a manga series by AidaIro. Serialized in Square Enix’s Monthly GFantasy magazine, it has since been compiled into 20 tankōbon volumes with over 8 million copies in circulation. Lerche produced the first season of the anime, which aired from January to March 2020 with 12 episodes. After School Hanako-kun, based on the spinoff manga of the same name, aired from October to November 2023, with the additional four announced episodes being described as a sequel to the series.

What Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun is About

Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun takes place at Kamome Academy, a school famous for its supernatural happenings and rumors surrounding its “Seven Wonders.” Student Nene Yashiro, a die-hard romantic and believer in the occult, seeks out the Seventh and most well-known Wonder, “Hanako-san,” to get a wish from her. However, Nene quickly discovers that the rumors aren’t exactly accurate after discovering that Hanako-san is actually Hanako-kun, a boy ghost whom she finds herself bound to as his assistant. After the surprising turn of events, Nene begins assisting Hanako-kun in the fight against evil supernatural beings and helps maintain the balance between their two worlds.
