The Wife is First Announces Audio Drama Adaptation
The wife comes first (always), but the audio drama of The Wife is First is a close second. The first episode releases on Jan. 9.
The historical danmei novel series The Wife is First will make its first foray into the audio drama landscape.
The audio drama platform Manbo released an announcement PV to commemorate the adaptation where fans could hear a sneak peek. 飞大团 is listed to voice Jing Shao, the merciless general. 羊仔 will voice Jing Shao’s husband, Jun Qing, the first official wife who possesses a weak body. The audio drama will release its first episode of Season 1 on Jan. 9 and will span for 12 episodes with five mini theatres following after.
Written by 绿野千鹤, The Wife is First follows Jing Shao, the third prince, who always places the country first and foremost. He ignores his first wife, Jun Qing, in favour of his concubines, despite how caring Jun Qing is. When he realizes just how much he’s wronged Jun Qing, it’s too late and the two are killed. However, Jing Shao gets a second chance when he wakes up and finds that he has gone back in time to when he first married Jun Qing. Knowing what he knows how, he vows to treat his husband better this time around.
A manhua adaptation has been released and completed on March 18, 2023. The manhua finished with 135 chapters with 15 extras.
The Wife is First releases on Jan. 9.
