The Untamed Live-Action Series Leaving Netflix in Late October

The Untamed, the live-action adaptation of Mo Xiang Tong Xiu’s hit novel Mo Dao Zu Shi, will leave Netflix on October 24, 2024.

The Untamed, a live-action adaptation of Mo Dao Zu Shi or Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation, will leave Netflix’s streaming library on Oct. 24.

Fans of the series noticed the note on the show’s screen, which is in heavy white text that reads, “Last day to watch on Netflix: October 24”. @/wxyzybxz on X, formerly known as Twitter, posted a screenshot of said screen and lamented, asking fellow viewers, “What should we do?”

Based on the original danmei novel by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu, The Untamed follows Wei Wuxian and Lang Wangji, two cultivators who travel together to solve the mysteries of the past that tie them together. It was China’s highest-earning drama in 2019.

Although The Untamed is set to leave Netflix soon, fans of the live-action can still read the story it is based on by purchasing Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation, published by Seven Seas Entertainment, wherever books are sold. Moreover, a donghua adaptation is available to stream on Viki.
