More and more shōjo works are making their way onto the screen and now The Demon Prince of Momochi House will join the line-up.
The Demon Prince of Momochi House announced its anime adaptation with a dazzling teaser video and a new key visual at its Japan Expo panel. Drive will oversee the animation and production of the adaptation with Bob Shirahata as the director with Yasuko Aoki as the scriptwriter. Ayana Tsujita and Tomoyuki Kono will work together to compose the music. Hiromi Kikuta will direct the sound.
Written and illustrated by Aya Shouoto, The Demon Prince of Momochi House began serialization in Kadokawa Shoten’s shōjo manga magazine Monthly Asuka. The manga ran from July 2013 to August 2019. The story follows an orphan named Himari Momochi, who will be voiced by Natsumi Kawaida, who unexpectedly inherits an ancestral estate on her sixteenth birthday. Himari moves into the house, despite many people around her warning her that it is haunted, with the intent to fulfill her duties as the guardian between the human and spirit worlds. To her surprise, the house is not empty: three handsome young men have not just taken over her new home, but one of them, Aoi Nanamori, voiced by Takeo Ōtsuka, has also taken over her role as guardian.
Viz Media publishes the manga in English. No release date has been announced yet for the anime, though Crunchyroll has revealed it will act as its streaming platform.
