The Apothecary Diaries Treats Fans to Main Trailer and Theme Songs
The Apothecary Diaries has released its main trailer. The anime premieres on Oct. 21 with three episodes.
The Apothecary Diaries has released its main trailer where fans can listen to the opening and ending theme songs.
Uploaded on the TOHO Animation YouTube channel, the main trailer for The Apothecary Diaries features more of the interactions between Maomao and the rest of the characters in a gorgeous animated tapestry of colours and movement. Ryokuōshoku Shakai will perform the opening theme song “Hana ni Natte” (Become a Flower) while Aina The End will perform the ending heme song “Aikotoba” (Password).
Animated and produced by Toho Animation Studio and OLM, The Apothecary Diaries will be directed and written by Norihiro Naganuma. Akinori Fudesaka will preside as the assistant director while Yukiko Nakatani will design the characters. Satoru Kousaki and Arisa Okehazama will work together to compose the music for the anime. Aoi Yūki voices Maomao while Takeo Ōtsuka voices Jinshi.
Originally a light novel series written by Natsu Hyūga and illustrated by Touko Shino, The Apothecary Diaries is set in the East where Maomao, the daughter of an apothecary master, is kidnapped to serve in the palace. Although she looks plain and unassuming, Maomao possesses a wealth of knowledge of medicine and has plans to lay low. Her plans explode in her face when the head eunuch Jinshi sees through her facade who soon recruits her to help solve the mysterious in the imperial court.
The Apothecary Diaries premieres on Oct. 21 on Crunchyroll with three episodes. The anime will air for two cours. The light novel is published by J-Novel Club and the manga is licensed by Square Enix.
