Spy x Family‘s success with its first film calls for celebration, but fans should probably stick to celebrating with peanuts rather than precious chocolates that can tip the balance of world peace.

Oricon News reported that Spy x Family debuted at the top of the box office in Japan when the original film Spy x Family Code: White released on Dec. 22, 2023. Produced by CloverWorks and Wit Studio, Spy x Family Code: White is an original story with mangaka Tatsuya Endo credited for the original work and character designs. Endo will still be involved with the film as he will come onboard as the supervisor. Takashi Katagiri will direct the film with Ichiro Okouchi as the scriptwriter. Kazuki Shimada will design the characters with Kyoji Asano as the chief animation director. [K]NoW_NAMe will produce the music. Official HiGE DANdism performs the theme song “Soulsoup.” Gen Hoshino performs the ending theme song “Hikari no Ato” which translates to “Trails of Light,” and is said to serve as a sequel to their ending theme song for Spy x Family‘s first season “Kigeki” which translates to “Comedy.”

Spy x Family Code: White, an original film based on the manga written and illustrated by Tatsuya Endo, thrusts the Forgers into a rather unexpected predicament. Threatened with the prospect that his current mission Operation Strix may be taken away from him, Loid Forger decides he needs to prove to his agency that he is the perfect man for the job. To do this, he takes his daughter Anya and wife Yor on a vacation so Anya may learn to recreate a special dessert for her principal as part of a cooking competition.

Fans outside of Japan can look forward to Spy x Family Code: White in 2024.
