Update on April 9, 2023: Solo Leveling: Ragnarok is a spin-off novel series. This article has been updated to reflect this change.

The son of the world’s greatest Hunter in Solo Leveling is levelling up with the release of his own spin-off.

Solo Leveling fans haven’t seen the last of Sung Jinwoo yet. KakaoPage, the South Korean manhwa service for the popular action-fantasy manhwa, revealed a spin-off series called Solo Leveling: Ragnarok will be produced. The spin-off features Jinwoo’s son Sung Suho and begins on April 10. A trailer opens with Sung Jinwoo, cloaked in black and purple before the words “It’s time to break Sung Suho’s seal” appear. Wielding a wicked-looking blade, part of Suho’s lower face is revealed for a few seconds.

Fans have caught a brief glimpse of Sung Jinwoo’s son in Special Epilogue Chapter 12 when Cha Hae-In, Jinwoo’s wife and fellow Hunter in the first timeline, greeted Jinwoo at the door with their son. This chapter also revealed Suho may have inherited some of his father’s Shadow Monarch powers as he’s seen levitating in the air at the end of the chapter. Jinwoo’s loyal Shadows, such as Igris and Bellion, have become very protective of their liege’s son.

One of the most popular manhwa, Solo Leveling boasts 4.3 billion views. Originally a web novel written by Chugong, Solo Leveling received a manhwa adaptation, illustrated by Jang Sung-Rak, more commonly known as Dubu, launching in March 2018. The series ended in December 2021 with 179 chapters.

An anime adaptation, produced by A-1 Pictures and directed by Shunsuke Nakashige with music by Hiroyuki Sawano, was announced and set for an early 2023 release. Solo Leveling recently revealed the anime would delay until winter 2024. Dubu expressed excitement over the adaptation, but would not live long enough to see his work come to life as he succumbed to a brain hemorrhage, due to chronic illness, in July 2022.

Solo Leveling: Ragnarok premieres on April 10 on Korean platforms. Tappytoon and Tapas, who have licensed the series for digital releases, including the special epilogue chapters, have yet to announce plans for Solo Leveling: Ragnarok.
