REVIEW: Honkai Star Rail U.S. Sunright Tea Studio Collaboration

Sunright Tea Studio’s collaboration with Honkai Star Rail hit all the right notes with it’s (not to sweet) delightful drinks and fun freebies.

Honkai Star Rail Kafka coaster and Sunright tea

This review is for promotional Honkai Star Rail-themed drinks offered by Sunright Tea Studio in the United States.

I first learned about Honkai Star Rail‘s collaboration with Sunright Tea Studio, the way any Millennial learns about anything — through social media, specifically, a Facebook ad. I went about a week after the collaboration started, so I wasn’t feeling confident about getting any of the cool Star Rail swag, especially after the disastrous way The Alley’s Chainsaw Man collaboration went for me.

The first Sunright (yes, I went to three total) I went to was sold out of the Kafka drink. *Sob* However, they had Blade’s drink and all the cool freebies, including the poster, cup holder, stickers and most importantly, the promotional card.

Honkai Star Rail Blade’s Karmic Chocolate Matcha

Blade’s Karmic Chocolate Matcha drink was (unsurprisingly) delicious! I followed the instructions of a poster on one of the café’s walls stating to rotate my drink to mix it. (I believe it said 17 times, but don’t quote me!) The chocolate and matcha flavors balanced each other out perfectly. I didn’t add anything to it and ordered it at 100% sweetness because I wanted to experience it the way it was intended to be. No regrets! A perfect 10/10.

Honkai Star Rail Kafka’s Blushing Blueblerry Splendor

Not satisfied with having only tried Blade’s collaboration drink, I went out again the following day to a different Sunright Tea Studio in hopes they’d have Kafka’s Blushing Blueberry Splendor in stock. I must have done something right in a past life because they did, indeed, have Kafka’s collaboration drink in stock! I was also able to grab a Blade poster, which the first Sunright Tea Studio didn’t have anymore. (Darn you, Blade fans!)

Although I loved Blade’s chocolate matcha drink, I must say that Kafka’s blueberry drink was A+++ perfection. If I could rate it higher than a 10/10, I would. It came with a topping of cheese foam, which, when mixed, made it taste like a blueberry cheesecake. I will be devastated when this collaboration is over because I might well be addicted to this drink.

Kafka’s Blushing Blueberry Splendor, featuring an angry Kafka coaster

As I mentioned earlier, I went to a total of three Sunright Tea Studios. I visited the third one just this week. This store was limiting the collab freebies to the first 100 guests of the day, and I went in the afternoon, so I didn’t qualify. (Which is more than fair since I was already able to secure the goods!) Since I’m addicted to Kafka’s Blushing Blueberry Splendor, I ordered that for myself while my companion ordered something different but equally yummy. Although I didn’t qualify for a code, they gave me a March 7 sticker with my drink, which was really cool.

Unlike the other cafés, this location had Kafka and Blade standees out, which I took a picture of because why not? I thought for a moment about posing with them, but surprisingly, it turns out that I have a little shame left in my body.

I loved Sunright Tea Studio’s Honkai Star Rail collaboration — both the drinks were amazing (not too sweet considering I ordered it at 100% sweetness), and the stores were well-stocked on freebies. I enjoyed the fun branding with the standees and posters. This was also my first time going to Sunright Tea Studio, and it made me a fan, so even after the collaboration is over, I’ll continue giving them my patronage. 🙂

I have an extra sticker (not sure if it’s March 7 or Kafka because of short-term memory, haha)… if you’re in the United States and would like it, email reditorial@redbeanime.com. It’s first-come, first-served, so whoever has the fastest hands gets the sticker.
