Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint has announced an anime adaptation.
Crunchyroll dropped the teaser trailer for Omniscient Reader at Anime Expo, exciting the numerous fans at the convention. Rumours about the anime adaptation have been swirling leading up to Anime Expo and fans were delighted to receive confirmation.
The series began as a web novel in Korea published on Munpia in 2018 before reaching completion in 2020. Redice Studio launched a webtoon adaptation, which helped grow its popularity. Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint tells the story of Kim Dokja, an office worker who enjoyed reading a survival webnovel. However, once the series comes to an end, he finds himself teleported into the world of the novel and is the only being sentient as to how the world is going to end.
The popular webnovel/webtoon series has also inspired a live-action South Korean drama adaptation. The adaptation will star Lee Minho as Yoo Joonghyuk and Ahn Hyoseop as Kim Dokja.
There is no further information regarding the anime adaptation other than that it is in production. The webtoon is available to read on the Line Webtoon app in English.
