My Hero Academia’s Creator Showcases Lady Nagant’s (Literal) Growth
My Hero Academia‘s Lady Nagant is growing right before our very eyes.
Kōhei Horikoshi, the mangaka of the critically acclaimed manga series My Hero Academia, has made it a tradition to pen and release a special illustration of the My Hero Academia characters prior to the airing of a new episode. Season 6’s current arc, known as the “Black Hero” arc, follows Deku as he makes the difficult decision to leave UA, knowing his presence will put his friends in danger. During his travels, he meets Lady Nagant, a former Pro Hero whose Quirk allows her to turn her right arm into a rifle.
Horikoshi has drawn three versions of Lady Nagant comforting each other: one where she is a child who still possesses the optimism of becoming a great hero; a second where she has matured and is now a teenager and has grown disillusioned with the concept of heroism and the corruption of the hero society; and a third as the grown-up Lady Nagant. There’s a sense of exhaustion in her eyes as she gazes to the side, at a loss of what she should do or what the right thing to do is.
Season 6, Episode 21 of My Hero Academia “The Lovely Lady Nagant” premieres on Feb. 25 on Crunchyroll.
