My Happy Marriage Renews Vows for Season 2

Miyo and Kiyoka’s love story continues in a second season of My Happy Marriage.

The wedding bells are a-ringing and fans’ hearts are full because My Happy Marriage has announced a second season.

My Happy Marriage has confirmed Season 2, following the final episode of Season 1. The first season, animated and produced by Kinema Citrus, began airing in July 2023 and concluded with 12 episodes. The romance series has garnered positive reviews.

A fantasy light novel series written by Akumi Agitogi and illustrated by Tsukiho Tsukioka, My Happy Marriage is set in an alternative version of Japan, set in the Meiji Restoration era. Miyo Saimori, the disgraced and abused stepdaughter who was born without any supernatural abilities, is married off to Kiyoka Kudou, a commander who was rumoured to chased off his brides within three days of their engagement. However, Miyo discovers her new husband may not be as cold as he appears.

Aside from the anime adaptation, a live-action film adaptation premiered in Japan in March 2023 with Ayuko Tsukahara directing and Tomoe Kanno writing the screenplay. A stage play adaptation was announced in June 2023 and ran in Tokyo from Aug. 11 to 20, 2023.

My Happy Marriage is available to stream on Netflix.
