Medalist Celebrates Anime Adaptation With Sparkling Visual and Studio Announcement

Medalist has confirmed its anime adaptation with ENGI as the production studio.

Medalist‘s anime adaptation is ready for its world debut.

The figure skating manga has confirmed an anime adaptation. To celebrate, Medalist has released a new key visual with Inori competing and in her final pose as she gazes up at the ceiling, one hand reaching for the stars while the other is held close to her heart. Sweat dots her forehead from the physical exertion of skating. Mangaka Tsurumaikada released a new illustration of Inori and Tsukasa celebrating, cheekily exclaiming their happiness had reached +500 billion GOE.

ENGI (Unnamed Memory and The Detective Is Already Dead) will produce the anime with Yasutaka Yamamoto directing. Jukki Hanada will write the script and oversee the series composition. Chinatsu Kameyama will design the characters. Yamomoto storyboarded a few episodes from Yumeiro Pâtissière and directed Noblesse.

Written and illustrated by Tsurumaikada in May 2020, Medalist follows two figure skaters who have been told multiple times by people around them that they should give up on their dreams. Tsukasa Akeuraji was forced to abandon his dream of singles figure skating in favour of ice dancing before retiring shortly, but when he meets young Inori who has the talent and passion for figure skating, it sparks something inside of him. The two work together to help each other make their dreams come true.

Kodansha USA has licensed the manga in English for a digital release.
