Medalist Announces Main Cast and Drops New Key Visual
Natsumi Haruse and Takeo Ōtsuka will voice the coach-student duo Inori and Tsukasa in Medalist.
Medalist has unveiled the voice actors for the two main characters.
Announced on the official social media accounts, Medalist has revealed that Natsumi Haruse will voice Inori Yuitsuka and Takeo Ōtsuka will voice Tsukasa Akeuraji. Haruse has voiced Kaoru Ryūzaki in IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls Theater and Milianne Grandria from Infinite Dendrogram. Ōtsuka has voiced Hikaru Sudō in Gene of AI and will voice Aoi Nanamori in Demon Prince of Momochi House.
Helmed by animation studio ENGI, Yasutaka Yamamoto has signed on as the director. Jukki Hanada will oversee the series composition and screenplay while Chinatsu Kameyama will design the characters.
Written and illustrated by Tsurumaikada in May 2020, Medalist follows two figure skaters who have been told multiple times by people around them that they should give up on their dreams. Tsukasa Akeuraji was forced to abandon his dream of singles figure skating in favour of ice dancing before retiring shortly, but when he meets young Inori who has the talent and passion for figure skating, it sparks something inside of him. The two work together to help each other make their dreams come true. The manga won in the Best General Manga category at the Shogakukan Manga Awards in 2023.
Kodansha USA has licensed the manga in English for a digital release.
