Little Mushroom Previews an Ethereal and Eerie Manhua Adaptation
Little Mushroom steals fans’ breaths away with a gorgeous preview of the upcoming manhua.
Little Mushroom is already crushing fans’ hearts in preview images a month in advance of the Manhua’s drop.
A preview video of the manhua adaptation of Little Mushroom or Xiao Mogu has been released on Weibo. Helmed by artist 尉迟金泽, the manhua promises heartbreak in the midst of a desolate and empty environment with the words “Wrong but still right” in the corner. His life hanging by a thread, An Ze slumps on the ground with silvery mycelium strings connecting him to a small, fragile mushroom beside him. The manhua launches on Aug. 17 on Kuaikanmanhua.
Character designs have also been released, giving fans a detailed look at the two main characters An Zhe and Lu Feng. The clothes An Zhe wears hangs loosely over his thin frame as he clutches a bag to his chest. His eyes are light gray, entirely guileless and innocent. Lu Feng on the other hand is serious in his black uniform, one hand balancing his cap while the other clutches a gun. In contrast, his eyes are bright green, giving an intense aura.
Written Yi Shi Si Zhou, Little Mushroom follows An Zhe, a mushroom who takes on the identity of a dead human boy, who throws himself straight into a human base in search of his spore. Unfortunately, the human base is presided over by people known as the Judges who seek to eradicate xenogenics like An Zhe. And at the very top is Lu Feng, one of the most skilled and clear-eyed Judges there who won’t hesitate to kill anyone he suspects have mutated.
The Little Mushroom manhua releases on Aug. 17.
