Link Click Wishes Fans a Happy Lunar New Year’s Eve

The time-travelling donghua Link Click has a Lunar New Year’s message for their fans.

Link Click‘s official Twitter account posted three new illustrations of the donghua’s main trio, Lu Guang, Cheng Xiaoshi and Xiao Ling. In their message, the production team wrote, “Happy New Year’s Eve. Thank you for spending the last year with Time Photo Studio. No matter what happened in the past or what will happen in the future, our meeting is just ahead. Please continue to support us in the new year!” The message is tongue-in-cheek as this is one of the rules Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi has when they embark on their time-travelling: “Past or future, just let them be.”

Each illustration features a different coloured background and plant life for each character. Lu Guang’s is blue to reflect his serious and mature attitude with weeping willows in the back. Cheng Xiaoshi’s yellow background showcases his warm and caring personality with gingko leaves fluttering to the ground. Qiao Ling is presented in a red background to show off her fiery and spontaneous side with flowers blooming behind her.

Link Click first released on Bilibili and Funimation in April 2021 with 12 episodes, garnering positive reception for its originality and top-quality animation. The story follows Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi who have the ability to travel back in time via photographs to fulfill their clients’ requests. Lu Guang is the more calm and level-headed of the two, following the three rules the pair have agreed on to a tee, while Cheng Xiaoshi is much more soft-hearted and oftentimes is left in despair when he is unable to help the clients. Season 1 ended with an enormous cliffhanger, leaving Cheng Xiaoshi, Lu Guang and Qiao Ling’s fates uncertain.

Season 2 will premiere sometime in 2023.
