The Jujutsu Kaisen manga will go on a short one-week break.

Jujutsu Kaisen fans can take a small breather after they read Chapter 229. According to Shonen Jump News, the popular dark fantasy manga will take a quick break. Jujutsu Kaisen will release Chapter 229 on July 16, go on a one-week break on July 23 and return with Chapter 230 on July 30.

Previously, Jujutsu Kaisen took a one-week break on June 25 and has been taking several breaks throughout the course of the past few months. Many fans have supported mangaka Gege Akutami’s breaks as the animanga industry is notorious for overworking its creators to the point where they suffer debilitating health issues.

Serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since March 2018, Jujutsu Kaisen has recorded over 80 million copies in circulation as of July 2023, making it one of the best-selling manga series of all time. The manga has inspired an anime adaptation, produced by Studio MAPPA, that is currently airing its second season. Season 2 adapts the “Hidden Inventory/Premature Death” and “Shibuya Incident” arc.

Jujutsu Kaisen is available to read on Viz Media with Chapter 230 releasing on July 30. Chapter 229 will launch on July 16.
