Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 26 released in Japan in April, and its mangaka took the opportunity to make a statement regarding a fan-favorite character.

X (formerly known as Twitter) user Infinity Exists posted a translation of Akutami’s commentary to their account. The statement explained the meaning behind the flowers chosen for the cover of Volume 26. In their analysis of the post, Sportskeeda notes that the symbolism behind the choice of flower means that not only is Gojo’s return unlikely–it’s impossible.

In addition, fans have been speculating over an illustration of Gojo, which is believed to be a memorial picture paying homage to the jujutsu sorcerer.

Jujutsu Kaisen is available to stream on Crunchyroll, Hulu and Netflix. The manga is available for purchase at your local bookstore, including box retailers like Wal-mart.
