Hell’s Paradise is Engulfed in Flames in S2 Key Visual

A new key visual for the second season of Hell’s Paradise has dropped.

Hell’s Paradise is raising the temperature with this fiery Season 2 key visual.

At Jump Festa 2024, Hell’s Paradise revealed a key visual in anticipation of the second season. The key visual features Gabimaru looking down with a melancholic expression on his face. He appears to be standing in the middle of an inferno with flames licking around his body. The anime announced that Ryota Suzuki will play Yamada Asaemon Shugen.

Written and illustrated by Yuji Kaku, Hell’s Paradise debuted in Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ in January 2018 and ran until January 2021. The series has been collected in 13 tankōbon volumes. The manga has received praise for the mangaka’s detailed illustrations and the relationship between Gabimaru and Sagiri. In its first year on the Shōnen Jump+, Hell’s Paradise has been cited as the most popular series on the platform and clocked 3.6 million copies in circulation in April 2021.

Hell’s Paradise follows Gabimaru, a ninja whose strength and emotionless facade has earned him the nickname “Gabimaru the Hollow,” who is currently, and has been for a long time, on death row. The problem with Gabimaru is that nothing seems to kill him. When Sagiri, a master swordsman from the Yamada Asaemon family of executioners come to try her hand at killing him, she surprises him when she suggests that he, himself, has been subconsciously trying to stay alive. It’s even more shocking when she deduces, correctly, that Gabimaru’s love has been keeping him alive. Sagiri offers him an opportunity of a lifetime: if he joins her and a group of death row convicts to a journey to Shinsenkyo to find the elixir of life, he’ll be free.

MAPPA produced the anime adaptation which aired on April 1, 2023 with 13 episodes. Kaori Makita directed the adaptation with Nozomi Ishii overseeing the production and Akira Kindaichi as the scriptwriter. Chiaki Kobayashi voiced Gabimaru while Yumiri Hanamori voiced Sagiri. Season 2 was announced shortly after the conclusion of Season 1.

No release date has been announced for Season 2. Season 1 is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
