Heaven Official’s Blessing Hopes to “Meet Fans Again” After Emotional S2 Finale

The second season of Heaven Official’s Blessing finished on Jan. 17 with 12 episodes. The official social media account for the donghua released a special video with moving illustrations, thanking fans for accompanying the characters for Season 2. Although Heaven Official’s Blessing did not confirm a third season, the donghua hoped that they could “meet fans again.”
Based off the best-selling novel series written by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu, Heaven Official’s Blessing received a donghua adaptation in October 2020 with Li Haoling as the director. Season 1 contained 11 episodes and a special episode that released on Feb. 14, 2021. The story follows a thrice-ascended god named Xie Lian who unravels the mysteries of his past from 800 years ago when he meets a red-robed man named Hua Cheng who has been waiting for Xie Lian for a long time. Season 2 premiered on Oct. 18, 2023, almost three years since Season 1.
Season 2 follows Xie Lian as he travels deep into the Ghost City, the dangerous realm ruled by one of the Four Great Calamities, Hua Cheng who has people quaking in their boots when they hear his moniker Crimson Rain Sought Flower. The youth who stayed with him for a night had long disappeared, leaving behind only a silver ring on a necklace chain, but Xie Lian may reunite with him sooner than he may think. Ding Youxi voices Xie Lian in Season 2 with Ma Zhengyang voicing Hua Cheng.
The dub premiered on Nov. 8 with Howard Wang and James Cheek back as Xie Lian and Hua Cheng. The donghua also included the voice acting talents of Reagan Murdock as the Heavenly Emperor Jun Wu, Jacob Eiseman and Anjali Kunapaneni who voice the male and female versions of Wind Master Shi Qingxuan, Aaron Campbell as Pei Ming, Wendee Lee as Ling Wen, and Branden Loera as Lang Qianqiu. Lucien Dodge and Phil Song portray Mu Qing and Feng Xin.
The first two seasons of Heaven Official’s Blessing, subbed and dubbed, is available for streaming on Crunchyroll.
