Heaven Official’s Blessing and Mo Dao Zu Shi Celebrate Dragon Boat Festival

Hualian and Wangxian have invited everyone to eat some zongzi for this year’s Dragon Boat Festival.

Heaven Official’s Blessing: Tian Guan Ci Fu and Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation: Mo Dao Zu Shi have released two new illustrations to celebrate Dragon Boat Festival. In the Heaven Official’s Blessing: Tian Guan Ci Fu illustration, Xie Lian sits with San Lang in a little boat. The two admire the ducklings swimming past them with Xie Lian grasping a basket of zongzi in his lap. The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation: Mo Dao Zu Shi has a decidedly different tone. Painted with a watercolours-like background, Wei Wuxian waits for his husband Lan Wangji who brings him a tray of zongzi to share. The gaze the two exchange is filled with tender affection.

Mo Dao Zu Shi and Tian Guan Ci Fu are the second and third novels Mo Xiang Tong Xiu wrote. The two series have garnered huge fanbases with many praising the relationship between the respective couples. Both series have inspired a donghua adaptation with Mo Dao Zu Shi airing for three seasons from July 2018 to October 2021 and Tian Guan Ci Fu‘s first season premiering in October 2020. Season 2 has been confirmed but has not announced a release date yet.
