GODZILLA MINUS ONE Drops Earth-Shattering New Trailer
Godzilla’s upcoming flick GODZILLA MINUS ONE (previously known as Godzilla -1.0 or Godzilla Minus One) has uploaded its first full official trailer to YouTube.
The film, helmed by Stand By Me Doraemon 2 director Takashi Yamazaki, debuts on Nov. 3 in Japan and takes place in a post-war version of the country. The country, set at zero after being ravaged by the conflict, finds itself in the negative after Godzilla attacks Tokyo.
The new trailer features English subtitles and shows citizens fleeing in terror as clouds of destruction fill the city. A reflection of Godzilla walking toward a woman with teary eyes as she asks incredulously, “Is that… Godzilla?” The furious Kaiju then bites into the train, terrorizing everyone on board. The following sequence shows the military and reveals that the government has been keeping secrets as one person ponders, “Why were we called out here?” A montage of destruction proceeds a shot of the King of the Monsters before revealing the film will debut in the United States on Dec. 1.
GODZILLA MINUS ONE represents Yamazaki’s first time directing within the Godzilla franchise. The film will be available in MX4D, 4DX and IMAX at participating theaters.
