The unparalleled magic continues as Ghibli Park announces the opening of its second phase.

As reported by Crunchyroll, Ghibli Park is gearing up for the next phase of the amusement park. The second phase will feature the opening of the Mononoke Village and the Valley of the Witches with the former opening on Nov. 1, 2023 and the latter on March 16, 2024. Concept photos of the two areas have also been released, highlighting the various attractions that will greet visitors.

Designed and built with the intention to preserve the existing greenery in Aichi Commemorative Park, Ghibli Park serves as an homage to the various celebrated and beloved films that have come out of Studio Ghibli. Ghibli Park’s first phase opened on Nov. 1, 2022 with the Dondoko Forest, Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse and Hill of Youth. Dondoko Forest takes visitors into My Neighbour Totoro‘s quaint Satsuki and Mei’s house where people can visit the kitchen, the well, the iconic steep staircase and the girls’ father’s office room. Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse is an enormous space that consists of various exhibitions including the “Becoming Characters in Memorable Ghibli Scenes,” “Delicious! Animating Memorable Meals Expanded Edition” and “Ghibli’s Collections.” Visitors can also see from Arrietty’s point of view where a section highlights The Secret World of Arrietty and the robot soldier from Laputa: Castle in the Sky. In the Hill of Youth, visitors can stand on the building balcony of the Earth Shop from Whisper of the Heart to see the entire view of the park.

At the Mononoke Village, children can visit the boar god Okkoto-nushi and the curse god Tatari-gami. At the Valley of the Witches, visitors can peek into Sophie’s hat shop and Howl’s moving castle from Howl’s Moving Castle.

Located in the Aichi Commemorative Park, Ghibli Park will open its second phase on Nov. 1, 2023 and March 16, 2024. Tickets for international visitors opened online on Jan. 10.
