To celebrate Muichiro Tokito’s transformation in the latest episode of Demon Slayer, the anime has revealed a new illustration of the Mist Hashira.

Demon Slayer‘s “Swordsmith Village” arc’s latest episode, Episode 8 “The Mu in Muichiro,” takes viewers into Muichiro’s past. Although Muichiro is depicted as someone cold and unwilling to help others, that was not the case when he was young and living with his twin brother Yuichiro. Muichiro lost his memories due to him repressing them as a way to cope, but the near-death experience with Gyokko unlocked his memories, thus allowing his Demon Slayer mark to appear as well.

Based on Koyoharu Gotouge’s best-selling manga series, Demon Slayer received an anime adaptation in April 2019. Ufotable’s beautiful animation led to the series gaining more popularity. Season 2 adapted the “Mugen Train” and “Entertainment District” arcs with the former turning into an animated film first. Season 3 adapts the “Swordsmith Village” arc and follows Tanjiro as he makes his way to the swordsmiths’ village in the hopes they may fix his broken sword.

Demon Slayer Season 3 is currently streaming on Crunchyroll. Episode 9 “Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito” launches on June 4.
